Since September, the national railway construction has ushered in an "outbreak period", and significant progress has been made in the preparatory work for the commencement of major railway projects carried forward during the 13th Five Year Plan and the 14th Five Year Plan.

      At present, a large number of national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway corridor projects and provincial and municipal key railway projects have entered the bidding stage and achieved the commencement target; Unapproved feasibility study projects are accelerating the feasibility study review and approval, and the projects that have been approved for feasibility study have been approved for preliminary design and construction drawings in succession.

      In the fourth quarter of 2022, according to incomplete statistics, more than 30 railway projects will enter the full construction phase, with a total mileage of more than 7000 kilometers and a total investment of about 1.5 trillion yuan.

These projects will be fully started:

      1. In terms of high-speed railway channels: the north high-speed railway along the river, Chongqing Wanzhou high-speed railway and Chengdu Dazhou Wanzhou high-speed railway along the river; Xiongxin High speed Railway and Ankang Chongqing Section of West Chongqing High speed Railway of Beijing Kunming Corridor; Xiongshang High speed Railway and Chang Jiu High speed Railway in Beijing Hong Kong (Taiwan) Channel; Tianjin Weihai High speed Railway of Beijing Shanghai Second Channel; Tongyong High speed Railway and Shenjiang Railway in the coastal corridor; Xi'an-Chengdu Railway and Guiyang Guangzhou High speed Railway of Lanzhou (Xi'an-Guang'an) Corridor, etc.

      2. In terms of general speed railway: Taizicheng Xilinhot Railway, Sichuan Tibet Railway leading into Chengdu Terminal Tianfu Chaoyanghu Section, Nanjing Wuhu Railway capacity expansion and reconstruction, Ruijin Meizhou Railway, Huangtong Baise Railway, etc.

The feasibility studies of these projects have been evaluated by the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Railway Administration, and will be approved soon. It is expected to officially start construction in 2023: Chang Gan High Speed Railway along the Chongqing Xiamen Channel, Zhangshan High Speed Railway along the coast, Weisu High Speed Railway along the Beijing Shanghai Second Channel, and Hefei Wuhan High Speed Railway along the river.
